In a time when civil discourse is strained to its breaking point, Pastor Ron Stelzer offers a sobering reflection: “There are limits to civil discourse when you are dealing with the devil.” America, he warns, is teetering dangerously close to a cultural collapse—one where righteousness is punished and evil is emboldened.
Naming the Demonic
Jesus was no stranger to dialogue. He engaged with Pharisees, sinners, and seekers alike. But He also knew when conversation had to end. When confronted with demonic forces, Jesus didn’t debate—He declared.
“You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning… a liar and the father of lies.” — John 8:44
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!… You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell?” — Matthew 23:13, 33
Jesus recognized when evil had crossed the line from ignorance to inhumanity. He cast out demons with authority (Mark 1:25), and when Peter unknowingly echoed Satan’s agenda, Jesus responded with piercing clarity:
“Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me.” — Matthew 16:23
This wasn’t cruelty—it was clarity. A refusal to entertain the demonic when truth and souls were at stake.
The Moral Foundation of Freedom
Pastor Ron reminds us that America’s Founders understood the necessity of shared moral and religious convictions. Without them, freedom falters.
- Thomas Jefferson wrote of “self-evident truths” rooted in divine order.
- George Washington warned: “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.”
- John Adams declared: “Religion and virtue are the only foundations… the Bible is the best Book in the world.”
These weren’t platitudes—they were pillars. And when those pillars crumble, chaos rushes in.
When Words Fail
In today’s climate, Pastor Ron argues, we face radical ideologies that reject reason and embrace violence. In such cases, he says, “talk must end and counterforce must be used if necessary.” While we pray for law enforcement to uphold justice, believers must also be spiritually vigilant—discerning when to speak and when to stand firm.
A Call to the Faithful
In the face of cultural confusion and spiritual warfare, the Church must be a beacon of truth, love, and courage. We invite you to be part of that light.
Join the Our Savior family of believers every Sunday at 8:00 AM or 11:30 AM.
Come hear the Word, worship in unity, and be equipped to stand firm in a world that desperately needs the hope of Christ.
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” — Romans 12:21
